How to Choose an Engagement & Wedding Ring
Choosing an engagement ring and wedding ring is one of the finest decisions you make together. Here is our simple guide – from Nordic tradition to profile, width, gold and size.
Engagement ring or wedding ring?
In Sweden and Finland you traditionally wear a plain band already at the engagement, often both partners. At the wedding you add the wedding ring – many choose the same model for both, while others add a wedding ring with diamonds.
Choose a profile
The profile is the ring's cross-section and shapes both the feel and the look:
- Half-round – a softly domed top, comfortable and timeless. Our most classic wedding ring.
- Rectangular – straight edges and a modern, architectural look.
Width
2 mm is discreet and suits most people, 3–4 mm is the most common width, and 5–6 mm makes a bolder statement. A wider ring is felt more on the finger.
Gold and diamonds
Our rings are made in recycled 18K gold – red, yellow or white. Choose a completely plain band or set 1–7 diamonds for extra sparkle.
Find the right size
Order our ring sizer to measure the inner diameter in millimetres. If in doubt, go slightly larger – the ring needs to pass over the knuckle.
Care
18K gold is hard-wearing and ages beautifully. Polish with a goldsmith's cloth now and then to keep its lustre.
