“The City of a Thousand Lindens”, Mariehamn’s other name, is the seed of an idea that became TILIA.

Maria Karlström, head goldsmith at GULDVIVA, says of Tilia: “I have long wanted to design a piece with a strong connection to Åland. The seeds the linden sheds in autumn look like a sail with a stem of seeds. To me it is a little like the Ålanders, who often dare to set sail and throw themselves off into the wind, many times with good results.”

Tilia is the Latin name for linden.

TILIA has a beautiful, patinated surface achieved by antique-finishing the silver.

Where does my jewellery come from?

Åland – a tranquil island in the Baltic Sea, between Finland and Sweden. Here, in the beautiful Maritime Quarter in the heart of Mariehamn, you’ll find both our store and our workshop.

Guldviva was born in Åland in 1989 and has always kept its production here. For us, it has been important to have full control over the entire process, where jewellery making and sales go hand in hand. This way, we can ensure the highest quality and offer personal service. With us, you always know where your jewellery comes from – right here in Åland.
